This course is designed as an executive-level overview of the critical aspects
of effective strategic planning and business plan creation. Based on a review
of “Best in Class” programs from Harvard Business School, McKinsey
and Company, Royal Dutch Shell and the writings of Mintzberg, Steiner and
Finnie this program will give each participant numerous tools, ideas and skills
to apply when creating a detailed and realistic strategic business plan. Participants
attending this dynamic seminar learn critical skills proven effective for
defining strategic vision and turning that strategic vision into operating
reality.

Taught in a format of instructor lecture combined with multiple independent
and group workshops and presentations this two-day workshop covers:
» Understanding what strategic planning is – and is not.
» Considering how organizational principles drive the strategic thinking process and examine the role strategic planning plays in creating an organization that is driven by vision.
» Exploring conceptual and practical aspects of strategic thinking and planning and develop the skills necessary to think strategically on a daily basis and guide others to do the same

» Common mistakes in writing strategic business plans.
» Examining a fresh way to look at the manager’s role in the organization as it pertains to organizational strategy
